Monday Reflection: Giving Yourself Credit
As I reflect on January, one theme that keeps coming up for me is being proud of myself.
So often, we’re taught to play small, to avoid drawing too much attention to our accomplishments, or to deflect praise instead of truly owning what we’ve achieved. But why? Why do we hesitate to acknowledge our own growth and effort?
I’ve spoken with several people recently who have had big wins this past month—moments they should feel proud of—but they struggled with fully embracing that pride. They felt a weirdness about it, as if giving themselves credit was somehow boastful.
So today, I invite you to reflect on this:
✨ What is something you’re proud of from the past month?
✨ Are you giving yourself enough credit for it?
✨ If not, why? Is it possible that you’ve been conditioned to downplay your achievements?
Let’s break the habit of shrinking ourselves. You deserve to celebrate your growth, your wins, and your effort!
Drop a comment below if you feel called to share—I would love to hear what you’re proud of. Let’s normalize acknowledging our own greatness.
This month I am proud of myself for listening to my body and honoring boundaries that I didn’t even know I needed..
